It is September 29, 1780 and the Country has just learned the devastating news that war hero American General Benedict Arnold has betrayed his county and was about to surrender Fort Benedict Arnold (West Point) to the British.  Arnold's accomplice, Major John Andre, has been captured and is about to face a Military Tribunal in the old Dutch Church in Tappan, New York.
