Rural & Migrant Ministry

Trinity Church has several opportunities to participate with the Rural & Migrant Ministry as they provide day and overnight camps for the children of area migrant workers. These camps can be the experience of a lifetime for some 200 deserving children and youth. Day camp is held during designated weeks in July and area churches are invited to provide the ingredients for a full lunch for one day of camp during the session. The overnight camp is held for one week during the month of August at Sharpe Reservation in Fishkill, New York.

Grace Smith House

Trinity’s Outreach Program supports the Grace Smith House which is an organization dedicated to serving the needs of individuals and families so they can live free from domestic violence.  Directed by Branka Bryan, PsyD, their mission is to provide shelter and apartments, advocacy, counseling and education for those experiencing domestic violence.  The mission also includes raising the consciousness of the community regarding the extent, type and seriousness of domestic violence and initiating and taking positions on public policies in order to provide options that empower survivors of domestic violence.

You can visit Grace Smith House at 1 Brookside Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601 or call their 24-hour hotline 845-471-3033 to get assistance.

Trinity encourages you to visit their website (www.gracesmithhouse.org) and stay engaged and informed about how you can also support this vital mission.
