Trinity Episcopal Church Fishkill

The Episcopal Church

Installation and Investiture of Katharine Jefferts Schori as Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church at Washington National Cathedral, November 4, 2006

Trinity Church in Fishkill is an Episcopal Church, a member parish of the Episcopal Diocese of New York, which is a diocese in the Episcopal Church in the United States. We are thus a part of the worldwide Anglican Communion.

We claim to be both Catholic, in that we are true to the historic Christian faith, as well as Protestant, in that we are truly reformed and evangelical. We have no required Confession of Faith, except the Apostles’ and Nicene Creeds, which we share with all Christendom. The Holy Eucharist, otherwise known as the Lord’s Supper, is celebrated every week.

We worship in accordance with the Book of Common Prayer (1979), and sing hymns from the Hymnal (1982).

Our ordained ministry is the historic three-fold of bishops, priests, and deacons. Our lay people are ministers by virtue of their baptism because we believe that the church is the “Body of which Jesus Christ is the head of which all baptized persons are members.”
